WOW!!!  What a weekend.  Our first BIG local competition the I Am Now Games was a HUGE successs!!!  I dont even know where to start.  We would first like to thank all of the people responsible for helping us put this event together.  First off to Arnie for all of his behind the scenes work leading up to the event and then handling all logisitcs throughout the weekend.  To Frank and Finesse for orchestrating the rig set up(spending all day Friday setting it up), the media equipment and the creation of the unique implements used in the WOD!!!  To MIG for supplying all of the media equip/tables/chairs.  To Raph for handling the entertainment all weekend.  Scrum for handling the scoring and various other important aspects of this event.  Hanna for setting up the heats(which kept things running smooth).  Head Judge Bionic, for keeping the judges in order.  Chewie our equipment manager, for making sure the event was equipped, with everything to run a successful.  Locker for finding the venue for our event.  To Drock and Pnut for handling the kids event(along with Garth and Mr. T), that looked like it was a lot of fun.  To Bounce for supplying us with the INCREDIBLE bounce houses all weekend.  Morgan and Julie for handling the registration.  Adele for organizing all of the logistitcs for the athletes/registration.  To Remotography for being the official photographer of the games.  The CFHC girlies(Thunder, Lil Miss, Jvic and yes Blankman) for helping with the goodie bags for all of the athletes.  Tina for being Adriana's right hand lady.  And last but def not the least, to Adriana for coming up with the idea of hosting this PHENOMENAL event in the first place.

To all volunteers(too many to list), that helped for countless hours throughout the weekend, meeting at the crack of dawn, staying late and I mean late last night getting all of the equipment back to all of the boxes(HQ/TS/TSB/TLR)that helped with the event.  To all of the judges for keeping the athletes in line.  The photographers for the countless pics taken.  To all of the teams(HQ/TS/TB/TG/TLR) and individuals(HQ/TS/TSB/TLR) that represented CFHC very well.  CFHC took first place in 3 events(mens masters, team scaled and team RX) as well as third in the team RX division.

We cant tell you how many people were coming up to us complimenting us on the event, the programming and how organized the event was run.  We had athletes coming from all over to compete and said they cant wait for our next event!!!  Again thank you to everyone for making this a VERY SUCCESSFUL event!!!

Event was amazing. I expected things to be bumpy: first hardcore event, two venues, swimming, kids comp, 8 adult divisions. This was pretty ambitious. But everything ran smooth. On time, crisp, organized and fun. Even Lance as MC was good, but please don’t let him keep that wireless mic.

    Great job Hardcore.

Also, special thanks to the Cobra judges: And1, Vince, Queen, and Shane.

  2. Ahmad "DDT" Dunn

Awesome event it was really exciting it being my first competition. You guys did an excellent job.. lookking forward to next years aleady.

  3. What an awesome weekend. First, to all the volunteers, judges, and the people behind the scenes, you guys worked tirelessly to make sure this event took place and you guys made this event what it was, and for that we all owe you guys a HUGE THANK YOU!!! You guys were the reason this comp was such a success and your hard work did not go unnoticed. Secondly, I need to thank Beast, Pnut, and Jana for competing like absolute animals this weekend and giving everything they had for each wod and for putting up with me yelling at them for pretty much every rep to move faster. Last I need to make a shout out to all the other Hardcore athletes who competed, it was awesome to watch you guys compete, everyone competed with such heart and determination. This weekend demonstrated what an awesome community we have at hardcore and its an honor to be a part of it.

  4. 1st of all, one person was left off the list of peeps in the original post, and that would be Lance. Dude stood out there all day, all weekend, no food, no break, constantly being “The Voice” of the games. NOT an easy task. Perfect man (and only man) for the job. Heinz, you were amazing.

2nd, to ALL the volunteers, judges, equipment peeps, scoring, registration, WHOEVER you were and WHATEVER you did, nothing happens without you guys. You all pulled off magic. You peeps were totally clutch!

Lastly, to all the athletes… all I can say is, INSPIRED. What I saw out there was super special. My treat for hard work was being right there while peeps were bear crawling across the finish line. Hands shredded, no legs left, unsure if they could make it, so exhausted from the weekend… these peeps left their souls on that field. Racing every inch to the end. Athletes supporting each other, pushing each other, slapping five to one another on the runs… I have mental images, snapshots, that I’ll hang on to forever. CrossFit really is a special thing. We are all lucky as hell to be a part of this movement.

Congrats to our CFHC peeps. It was really hard to not scream and support you guys. I wanted to, but I didn’t want to play favorites, lol. You all did fantastic. SO much effort and heart out there, no matter WHAT box you call “home”, every HardCore peep out there made our family proud.

I love my box, y’all are awesome.

I’d like to give the judges, volunteers, spectators, pretty much anyone having anything to do with the
I Am Now Games a medal. Queen do we have any left? lol!!!!
    THANK YOU!!!!
Extra Big thanks to my right hand D-Rock, I could not have pulled the kids comp off without you!!!!
Thank you to all my kids judges, I know it was hard to no rep little kids but, you gave them the same respect as a full grown crossfitter and that’s what they deserve.
My son had an amazing first crossfit competition, and wants more!!!!
so proud of all of our athletes!!! our hardcore family really came together to make this happen!!!
MY TEAMMATES ARE TOTAL BEASTS!!!!!!! It was a pleasure to be a part such an amazing group of athletes. The Boys killed it as usual, and Jana showed her soul a number of times this weekend.

bounce house attendants rock!!! thanks for keeping my kids safe :) xoxoxox
    I Am Now Games 2013
I AM…….. SO PROUD OF US!!!!

I was truly very impressed with the hard work and dedication by the staff, judges, volunteers and athletes. I could only be there Saturday, but from what I saw, this was a very well run event. The inclusion of the kids/teens divisions was super. My kids competed in the teen division and had an absolute blast (my Sammi can almost walk standing straight up this morning). Competitions keep getting bigger and more serious. While still obviously competitive, this one was still just plain fun too.

Kudos to 57/Queen and their royal court. Well done.

  7. Waka Flocka Locka

Actually there was one person left off the list that needs to be thanked whom… It was Arnie. The man put in countless hours and is one of the biggest reasons the event happened. We’ve been working together for MONTHS making sure this event happened. We both learned lots about organizing an event, more than I think either of us expected or wanted.

Special thanks to Frank and Finesse for getting that rig up! Awesome job!

Looking forward to doing something even more amazing next year!

  8. Nails

Oh yeah, my spirit of the Games has to go to Pnut. That crazy chick had just finished her wod herself, was out of breath, just had 115lbs fall on her back, and still bolted over to the kid’s field to demo and run one of the kids events with DRock. She really wore two hats all day on Saturday.

  9. NASA

I would to thank everybody who put this together it was truly and extraordinary event. This was my first competition ever in crossfit. I know that I am not the fastest, strongest, or fittest person out there. But I do know that I put 120% at every wod and this brutally killed me. But I enjoyed every moment. I had such a great time motivated every athlete even the ones that weren’t from our box. Made friends with different athlete in my heats and they even pushed me during the wod to keep me going.

I knew I was going to be first or tenth or anywhere near there because there are people that are just beasts and I’m just following in their footsteps. I know that it will take time to get on that level but I’m willing to push myself to do it.

Again thank you and congratulations to those who won and to those who got close to first. It was a blast watching you guys and being inspired.

  10. Thunder

I am sore from judging! Is that even possible? It was hard getting out of bed this morning! I am still Couting reps!!! Judging is not easy guys ….But I had a great time this weekend watching you all giving your best specially The Sandbox peeps!!! Tommie put up a comedy show in the pool wod! Lol Bad ass! Casey, Jefff , Rhett , Carrie and Chris you are all winners to me, so proud of u all!
Thank you to all the volunteers …. Awesome job! Great event ! I can’t wait to compete next year! Lol Congrats to all CFHC competitors…
    Free tan!!!!

  11. Rae Rae

What an awesome weekend. I loved judging, even though it is really hard work. I think I squatted with every single rep of evey single athlete I judged!!!! I loved coaching badass CrossFitters through some pretty amazing WODs. I have no voice left at all and a really bad farmers tan!
Thanks to Bionic and Hanna for your help and being our second set of eyes. Thanks to Arnie for knowing the answer to every question I threw at him all weekend. Thanks to Queen and Lance for an awesome event! Thank to Adam for….well, being an awesome brother? Lol

  12. Rae Rae

Just kidding! Adam worked really hard to make this event run so smooth and found the venue which allowed us to add swimming!
Great job to all the CFHC athletes! Way to kick ass this weekend!
Thanks to Bruce and Gus from The Brick for my cool hoodie….loved judging you guys!

  13. Lil Miss

Hats off to CFHC for a great event. Awesome job by all our athletes. Especially the first timers. Glad I was able to be there a bit Saturday and sorry I had to miss Sundays action at the pool. I hear Tommie took center stage!!!

  14. Waka Flocka Locka Flame

Best part was watching athletes swim, well some swam and some were just in “drown prevention” mode. Killer aspect of an event which I’m glad went off well. You all have a year to practice!

  15. Chaos

I almost felt bad that I was competing and not helping this weekend, because everyone that was helping out was working hard. Alot of the volunteers put in more work then the people competing so thank you! Also, thanks to everyone that came out to cheer, and good job to all of my team mates. I know the weights on were on the heavy side for the girls, but they stuck with it and did awesome.

  16. BRO

Great Competition I agree with Chaos we might have gotten off easy just competing this weekend and not volunteering, you guys were awesome! Great wods never thought I would be able to lift that heavy in a wod or swim (which I use to have a fear of but not any more!!) def a big push this weekend. Great job to all Competitors so happy for everyone :)

oh and P-nut I’m with you…..always was a huge Jana Bieger fan growing up in the gymnastics world now I can say I competed right next to her! soooo cool! you girls are badass!!!

  17. Marcos

Wanted to give a huge shout out to CFHC and all who helped out put on this event. It was a huge success! This was my first competition I’ve attended, and I was blown away. I’m new to CrossFit, but after this event, I’m definitely hooked! Thanks to CFHC for showing me a whole new side of CrossFit!

  18. Pony

We definitely got off easy just competing! Wow!!! As if spectating isn’t tiresome already and judging/volunteering is such demanding hard work. Thank you all who volunteered for making this such an awesome event! You are truly appreciated and thank you to my team Chaos, T1000, BonBon, for your awesome performance and having faith in me in those heavy wods. Congrats to everyone who competed… maybe that movement that was so difficult before might just be easier the next time you wod:)

  19. Queen

It was an incredible event, I have no words to thank all the people who helped us out to put together this Event.
It felt like the old school Crossfit Competitions, I loved the Hopper event, having all the athletes around waiting to see what kind of torture we were going to put them trough was the coolest thing ever……

Even tho I look like a zebra from my tan lines, & I am still dehydrated, and I haven’t slept in 3 days, it was totally worth it.

Thank you again to our volunteers & judges they truly busted their ass all weekend long.

    You guys are the best……

  20. F'N A

Congrats to all the athetes!! I might not have competed but i tell ya…boy am I sore from moving those weights around all weekend!!! Thanks for an amazing event!!! It was great to be part of an awesome competition!!! Thank you to everyone!!

  21. SNAIL

HUGE thank you to the volunteers, you guys rock! a special thank you to SCRUM. you had to deal with all of us athletes about the scoring and you never once got frustrated. you handled it all very well ! & of course thank you to my team CHAOS PONY & T1000. Pony hit a PR of 95# for her snatch just two days before the competition. then she did it for reps in the wod ! & same with T1000, I dont think he ever used 155 for OHS or 135# for snatch. & again stepped up and did it for reps. Evan your back must hurt from carrying the whole team the first day lol. craziest thing I saw all weekend. Evan was busting out OHS at 155# like it was nothing. the team in front of us fell on him. he kept the bar over head, made sure the other guy was ok, stepped around him. and then continued his OHS ! insane.

and again thank you thank you thank you to all the volunteers and judges !

  22. Shady/Sandbag/Tommie

First I would like to say a big huge thank you to EVERYONE involved who gave up their weekend to help put on this event! BIG UPS TO YOU ALL!!!!!! I had a great time competing this weekend and cheering for my CFHC family! I want to especially thank everyone for cheering me on in the swim WOD. I went into that WOD thinking it would be bad and it was bad! HaHa It was fun just hearing everyone cheering and telling me to try different swim strokes ( even my competitors were giving me help). I am glad I was the comic relief for everyone that morning!
Congratulations to the CFHC winners and competitors for giving it their all this weekend. Great to watch and cheer you guys on.
Great job to The SandBox Crew who competed……….Casey, Jeff, Chris, Carrie, and Rhett!!!!!!
