I agree with Nails. I want to get better. Since I started the 24 challenge I have definitely seen myself improve but I still have a long long way to go. Fran will be my benchmark for February. Feb 1st and then Feb.28th. We will see what happens.
SAVE THE DATE:
I am putting together a Family Fun Day for Sunrise Park Elementary. We will hold a 5K in South County Park on March 16th. After the run, there will be booths, games, bounce houses, activities for the kids, and food. I will send you the link through active.com to sign up for the race in the next week. Please put this event in your calendars. I know I can count on my CFHC family to help me make the first event I am planning a success.
***this will be an accuchip race, so it’s a great opportunity to get running and get a PR!
Thanks!
Rae
I love seeing peeps get their 1st MU. It was my holy grail, so every time I witness that, it takes me back to that moment, I’ll never forget what that was like. That being said, the most awesome thing I witness as a coach, is to see peeps get their dubs. It’s the best. There’s always this look of shock and pure happiness. Every adult that gets dubs, they immediately get a look on their face that is one of a kid at Christmas. It’s the best.
Major congrats to Jackie at TS 730 and Connie at TS 830. Jackie went from zero ever to 4 in a row, and Connie went from like 2 in a row ever to 20 in a row. You both made my day, and I thank you for it.
@Chewie….Ahhh totally cool about DUBs….I totally agree!!! DUBs was one on my biggest “I reeeeeally wanna get this” movement. I worked sooo hard for so long and then one day, they came. They still aren’t super consistent, but my numbers are getting higher and my wrists are getting stronger. To stand by and watch that transformation for others….absolutely beautiful.
@RaeRae…have a 5K for church that day, but I’m there if that falls through (like it did in the fall!!)
@Troy…awesome idea about February BookEnds of Fran!!!
Nice morning at TS 8:30 for this wall ball blaster today. Thanks to Chewie for his awesome coaching and perfect music (every time!). Beef rowed the eWOD- ALL three options- beside me while I did this WOD. I got 30 DUBs in a row today, which was a PR, and I was really glad when the wall balls were done. A few of them did not squarely hit the target, ergo my time was 11:11. I think that’s a lucky number, which can only mean one thing: there are many RXs in my future.
Great EWOD this morning! Don’t know if its peer pressure or the look but JVIC didn’t let me stop after round 4; “go ahead and do one more.” I had to silence that little voice in my head on Rounds 5 and 6 and was able to get a 3:24 on the 800. Felt good to finish strong!
Low 12s RX. There was a point after round 1 when I thought I could do this thing sub 10, but then my dubs kinda fell apart. The key was staying ahead of Patrick and K1 though, I don’t think I’ve beaten those two in a WOD this year. My body felt much better after today’s WOD than it did sunday or Monday. Great active recovery WOD.
My February goal is to train more w/ certain peeps. Jordan AKA: Slappy/FIGJAM whipped up some torture for us today, partner style, down at Sandbox. It was brutal, and I even scaled all the weights. Jvic was my partner and we went up against Jordan & Thunda, Todd & Lil Miss. And I got SMOKED. But, it was good for me. I pushed myself pretty hard, just didn’t wanna let Jvic down. And my body paid the price lol. Can’t tell you how many times I thought I was going to throw up in the middle of the wod. Alot of weakness got exposed that I need to address, and that WILL happen. Now, if I had NOT wodded with you guys, I’d still be ignorant to those weaknesses. So, thank you guys very much. Time to step my game up. It felt good to get humbled like that today. Sucks right now, cuz my body wants to take a coma nap, but it feels good lol.
i love lunch detention at TS. nice day to get back at it after the I Am Now weekend. unbroken everything @ 7:51Rx and finally strung a few bar muscle ups together afterwards (3-PR).
my goal is to start working with the AIT athletes so i can work on my strength and take my woding to the next level.
this weekend was extremely motivating and fun. job well done to the entire CFHC fam for putting on a great event. couldn’t have asked for a better first competition. cant wait to do it again.
For day 1 of Operation “Suck Less” I’m going to give myself a 4/10. On the plus side, after heavy squats on Sunday, followed by those 2 sets of 30 squats yesterday, the thought of wallballs today made me want to cry…yet I didn’t. But my lack of consistent dubs still brings my suck factor up significantly. This workout consisted of about 10 minutes of exercise punctuated by 6 minutes of hopping and flagellating my ankles.
Shout out to CHEWIE for playing w us today! Wod was terribly painful thanks to FIGJAM! Not sure what sucked the most! Anyway CHEWIE, there will only always be the “first” person to do a MU at TSB!!! YOU!!!!!!!!!
Had the pleasure of TLR Roosters. At HQ for work for the next two weeks, so I’ll be there a bunch. Good group of peeps. 12 something Rx. Sorry I don’t remember. Did the 40-20-10 set of WBs unbroken, so very happy with that. Dubs were average. 30 set of sit-ups felt like it took a year.
Adam threw in some sled pulls after. First 5 – not too bad. 6-7 were meh. 8-9-10 sucked ass. Got to suffer with an old Spanish River Shark – Mr. Charles Keys. and some young whipper snapper named Matt.

Hey Chewie…can you find me some dubs…please? I think I have waited LONG enough to get those damn things….GGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
14:42 Rx. My goal for February is to improve my times on the wods; I’m consistently one of the slower non-beginners in the class. Form is good, weights are decent, I just gotta get faster. Staying injury-free would also be a plus! Good post-wod lifting session with Possum tonight too!
I finally beat Bionic in a WOD 6:21 and Cyborg came thru TSB and beat me by one second! Can’t an old guy get a break!!!!!!! Great work at the TSB tonight by all!
Sucking less I hope.
I loves walls balls
Destroying this shortie tomorrow #unbroken
