  1. Props to TS 430. Gave everyone the option of a scaled easier version as a “way out” and nobody took it. Everyone busted ASS. Did warp speed down to SB for the 6pm, made it there late (effing traffic) and took on Jackie (cuz Wedge put it in my head earlier in the week!) 7:35 RX. That girl is alot easier on paper! Lol. LOVE SB. Awesome peeps, awesome vibe. Everyone put in HARD work on this one. Bionic went heavier (95/45) and nearly made it under the cap. Dude is a nut. Looking forward to coaching up some partner peeps at HQ tomorrow!

Big props to Rocky. She didn’t make the cap, but refused to quit, aching hands and all. Don’t remember her time, but doesn’t matter. She was the epitome of form, intensity, and heart. Always a pleasure to “coach” you Rocky, you are total old school badass!!!

Tator and I were under 24 which included us slamming into each other on deck squats. The hardest part to deal with was that Jvic and Ghost were right next to us, ghost stopped to check on us and jvic stood there laughing.

The Station was packed at 0830. Nice job everyone!

Fun morning with lots of rockstars at TS 8:30. Thanks to Lance for always making it fun. Love partner WODs, especially with my favorite partner, Beef. I had to mod the DLs to 85# sumos, time was 22:32. Hoping to DL again in a couple of weeks. Great job to T1000 and Natural for flying on this one!

Partner wods are awesome! Paris and i were 26 something, so fun! Love Station Saturdays!
Chips, im shocked that it was u guys that crashed and not Paris and I! i have to admit, i probably would have laughed too if i saw it ;)
Joker -sorry i hurled myself at the floor and almost took us both down, i promise if im ever actually in a burning building to be more cooperative!
Oh and i think helmets should be made available at the Station. Or i should just always wear one :)

I never post on this board. It’s not a statement, I’m just old and hate technology. I’m sure hindsight being what it is, by this time tomorrow I’ll wish I would have stuck to not posting. That being said my frustration level is high enough right now to break my own rules.
After the WOD today, I was fuckin pissed (along with others). There are some cheating fucks at CFHC. I can hear my wife’s voice in my ear right now saying, ā€œwhy do you let it bother youā€. Well I’m going to tell you and specifically her why.
Why the fuck go to CF if you don’t want to do the workout? Some people will say, ā€œwell, they’re only cheating themselvesā€. Fuck no, they’re not. They are cheating everyone! They are cheating every person who goes into CF and works their ass off completing every rep just to find out that they finished behind some guy/girl who has no earthly business posting a faster time. That can crush your spirit. Especially if you haven’t figured out these people are cheatin fucks. Yesterday I watched Rocky bite, scratch and claw to finish that WOD. She didn’t care about the time, just the accomplishment of doing every single one of those stupid fucking TGU’s (thanks Lance). Isn’t that what we are all striving for? If not, please let me know. Maybe I’m in the wrong fuckin place.
Please don’t misunderstand me; I’m not talking about the accidental miss of a rep or two. We’ve all done that. I’m talking about the continual systematic cutting of multiple reps, round after round. I really don’t give a shit if you want to come and cheat on the workout. I think it’s fuckin stupid but whatever, it’s a free country. My problem is the blatant act of walking your sorry ass up to the board, looking the coach in the eye, (who, by the way, knows you cheated) and lying to them and having them post your bullshit time on the board. Do everyone a favor and cheat yourself all you want, just keep it to yourself. Don’t post your pathetic shit on the board.
I’m done. Sorry for the rant. If this pisses you off, I’m not sorry; you’re probably the guy or girl that I’m talking to. If it turns out that I get kicked in the nuts the next time I go to CF, I’m wrong and I’m in the minority. I’ll go back to Globo gym. At least they have the common courtesy to keep their lies to themselves.
One last thing, for your reading pleasure; every time I wrote quotations, please do your best annoying ā€œI told you soā€ wife voice. Especially on that first one!

1st day Coaching at TLR. I shadowed Hanna and had a blast. Made some new friends – Gricel, Jessica, Nicole. And saw some old – Lisa & Vince and little Jake. :)

There were many others and I promise to try and not forget your names next time. Awesome energy – lots of peeps working hard. And most definitely some sore mitts after all that hanging yesterday. Great job Everybody.

I agree with you Ryan. It is a shame that some people choose to cut reps just to post a great time or claim they RXed. Especially when you have been approached by a coach before about your rep cutting and you still do it.

Now if your wodding and giving your all and because of your fitness level, you cut your reps, thats one thing. But for the ones that boast about their times, always insist on their RX and cut reps, thats who this message is for. And to all who think they are fooling us or other members, you’re only fooling yourselves. So man/woman up and DO THE REPS!!!

  8. fresh

PREACH!!!! Well said Ryan & 57, I couldn’t agree with you more….do the work…ALL of it…. before bragging about how fast you are….it sucks for those of us that put forth the effort, hard work & fight to get all of our reps done when we have to read these bullshit times on the boards & blogs…awesome work by my AIT peeps today!

  9. NASA

Awesome rant gotta show them what’s up… AIT kicked ass 215 PR should to over head. Tried going for 225 but failed but my pr last time was 195 lol major pr. Awesome work today with the trifecta in doing this wod. Austin, Juan, and Jordan all pushed each other with Jordan doing a 175 Mexican sled push haha but great work today from everyone!!!

  10. iPod

28:20Rx w/ K1…had so much fun iHad to come back & do iT again w/ My Tardy…32:20Rx(we were enjoying iT more together). Props to Fred & Turbo for 28:15Rx…both of them are running great. As for Ryans rant… iLove iT, but iT’s the same old shit. Some peeps just don’t get iT. CrossFit iS alot like golf iN some ways…iKnow you’re all saying “iPod iS whacked”…but seriously, golf iS a “self judged” sport/game. Players must call their own penalties, count their own strokes, including any penalty strokes, and they must mark their own score cards & sign them before submitting their score. The judges on the course are only their for guidance & for players to check rulings & ensure that whatever the player determines iS the proper rule/call is done correctly…as the player sees iT. iF a player submits a score that iS determined to be improper or violated rule…their score iS disqualified(occasionally there can be adjustments after the fact, but an iMproper/iNcorrect scorecard submission iS grounds for being completely disqualified from a golf tournament). Golf also has a handicapping system so that everyone can play on a “level” playing field based on their ability/skill. All that said, CrossFit is self judged iN our daily WOD’s & also iS scaled/modified for different levels of athletes fitness, ability, & strength. Now as for cheating reps & posting great times, etc…hahahaha…come on peeps. Lets go to the video tape! Watch some of the self proclaimed “elite” athletes that post times that look incredible & all of a sudden they ain’t so elite. Not all…just some. We do have a few fire breathing athletes…very elite & very special. But for the most part, most aren’t & the ones that do the cheating are hardcore “wannabes” that may very well be able to get more elite, they just need to put iN more hardwork & be honest with themselves. After 3years of CrossFit, iHave given iN to the fact that some peeps cheat & really don’t have iNtegrity iN the box. Not sure how they are outside the box, but iDo know that peeps that cheat at golf usually will cheat at most things. And…the Open Competition will shine a bright light on this & the peeps that cheat better kick ass or be sick for those WOD’s cause the judging will be for real. @Ryan…you’re a CrossFit stud, you work hard, you leave iT all out there, & you have Jvic iN your bag…dont let this BS bug you. That’s all iHave to say about that. iLoveThisShit!

I have been a member of CFHC for over 3 years. I wish I could say that this was the 1st time I’ve ever heard of peeps cutting reps. Unfortunately it’s not. For me one of the greatest rewards I gain from CF is being able to support my fellow CF peeps. Watching someone start the program and witness their growth and success is awesome. These people work their asses off every single day. They are the people who do the EXTRA reps if they have lost count. What is baffling to me is why bother cheating? Who wants an Rx or a fast time that you didn’t earn? There are no shades of gray. You either Rx’d or you didn’t. If you DON’T DO ALL THE REPS not only is it not Rx it’s a DNF!!!!! Maintaining an on going lie takes a lot of work & effort. Rep cutters should put that energy into becoming the athlete that they are pretending to be!!!! It’s all about character!!!!!
It is probably fair to assume that if you lack character in the box then you lack character outside the box . So you need to ask yourself, Is that who I want to be? A cheating, lying facade!!!!
People have way more respect for people who are humble and honest. There no shame in not being the strongest or the fastest. You should feel proud that you showed up, did the work & finished the workout no matter how long it took.
    Tardy out!!!!

  12. Chips498

Amen Ryan! I have been your friend for 20 years and for you to blog this must really have bothered you.

I personally don’t care if people cheat their reps! These are the same ones who probably cut corners in everything they do in life. At the end of the day I am sure they really don’t feel good about themselves and if they do they are just plain crazy.

Integrity is being honest even when you think nobody is looking. (Or counting)

  13. Roger that, Ghost. The nice part about never posting is the fact that everyone listens when you do! I can’t say that cheaters bother me much since I generally do not know who the established cheaters are anyway. If I did know who they were, maybe it would. The people with good integrity at CFHC usually become pretty obvious over time: they’re ripped and fast, and I usually know them best from behind because that’s the view I have as I run several hundred meters behind them.

Honest effort yields results and abs. Cheaters? Well, they’re just white noise. Life is full of ‘em.

PS-I really like that I found a group of people who are cool with F-bombs. I knew debutante balls weren’t the place for me. Way too stuffy.

  14. Cheetah

Tardy and iPod have it right. They humbly practice what they preach. They constantly motivate everyone to go full throttle, but never at the expense of form and integrity. We’re lucky to have their crazy asses at TG.

  15. CSI

Nicely f*cking said Ghost. :) I agree, but like Lisa, i rarely notice since my old ass is usually too busy trying not to die/hurl/fall down to watch anyone. Being last isnt a bad thing, it just shows u what u need to work on. (says the girl with the 17 minute Fran lol)

  16. Bounce

AWESOME class at TS 830 today !!!! Box was packed and bodies were flying all over the place…Decay carried me the whole WOD I needed to tie a leash to him on the runs so I would not get lost… On the bright side I did 25 consecutive pull ups with out dropping most ever for me…wooo hooo T1000,The Natural , JVIC , Ghost , Lisa and sick Beef smoked this WOD!!!! Goodjob guys and girls…. The rest of us peeps also kicked ASS…. Great Job to everyone… Oh Yeah great coaching by 57and Joker aka Jason…. LOL

Im excited for yoga! And excited to put my yoga mat to use for something other than burpees on my wood floors during the dark days (aka the 100 burpee 100 day challenge)

  17. WHITEBREAD

Like button pressing happening now, this blog is soooooo much better than Facebook, I always cut reps, it makes feel awesome inside my dirty cold garage, jk CrossFit to be better not to make people think you’re better, exact reason I NEVER post rx, I just post time, loads, and an occasional story that no gives a crap about, why cheat? SILLY

  18. Beef gave me a hall pass for the yoga class this morning, so I hit TS for my 2nd yoga class with Marlea. What a super fun crowd of peeps on a gorgeous morning! Thanks to Marlea for really tailoring these yoga classes to CrossFit. We did some poses to help improve our squats, and I found those the most challenging today. NOW I know why P Lea’s squats and power cleans are so amazing, and I hope to improve my own range of motion by going to her class on a regular basis. It’s also super fun to come out to TS on a Sunday morning with a crowd of peeps I don’t usually get to see during the week. Great job to everyone-CSI, Decay, Karen, iPod, Janelle, Anna Banana, Paris, and everyone else-and who knew iPod could do such an impressive bridge?!

Beef showed up with Savanna afterwards, who was decked out for her own WOD. I thought we would horse around, but she made up the following us to do together. No worries, we used chips to count.

    4 RFF
-800m run (she did these on her scooter)
    -2 rope climbs (each)
    -2 wall balls
    -6 HSPUs
-1 handstand hold for 60 seconds

Seriously, she made this up for us. I almost fell over at the end. If you want to get shown up by a 6 yr old, come join us on Sunday mornings after yoga to embarrass yourself along with me. :-) Ciao!

iGot my Yoga on today @ TS w/ Yogi Marlea…she’s great, very patient, & understands that we CrossFitters are iN dire need of what she has to offer. She modifies her class so that we can do iT & don’t get overwhelmed by the poses…yoga iS no joke & iT’s far from “just stretching”. Very challenging but extremely effective…even iF you suck at It, which iDo. iDid not get an Rx, but iFelt terrific after the class. This will be the ‘Yin’ to my CrossFit ‘Yang’. iHave no doubt this will iMprove my flexibility, mobility, WOD-abililty…and iT will probably help to prevent injury & make my ongoing aches & pains get better. i’M committing to getting my Yoga on 1x/week.

  20. CSI

Yoga was totally awesome this morning! I have never enjoyed yoga in my life, nor have i ever been able to be still and quiet for that long, until today. Marlea is a fantastic teacher. Ditto to everything iPod wrote. And no, it is no easy little stretching class, its work! I loved it and cant wait to the next one! Everybody should really try it out.

  21. WHITEBREAD

Yoga is great, I took it for a semester in school, just finished this WOD, nothing was to horrible, pull ups went kinda slow (which usually are a strong point) but it’s hard to speed through hollow rocks or deck squats, the partner carry, I just used my heavy bag and ran around the basement in loops with it equaling about 50m, and I did the reps all to myself, 30:40
    Thanks Hardcore!!
