Bio

Omar “Bionic” Torres, was born and raised in Puerto Rico, moved to the United States at the age of 8. Always liked sports and competitive events whether it was playing a game or challenging friends. It always became a battle to find out who was best or who did better. Throughout his life he played many different sports such as baseball, softball, football, basketball, volleyball (beach & court), tennis, biking, running, weight lifting, name it he probably did it at one point, but never stuck to one. He was always challenging himself to something new. As he got older he began to think deep into fitness and weightlifting. Joined many gyms and tried many ways to stay fit by competing in events such as The Firefighter Challenge, playing Adult Softball, biking in Relay Half Triathlons, and Adventure Races.

When he found CrossFit in July of 2007 he was introduced to the biggest challenge in his life. He realized how unfit he was even after doing all these events. And since he loves a good challenge he decided to take-on the CrossFit program religiously to where he competed in the 2008 CrossFit Games after only a year of applying CrossFit to his training. Omar has a huge passion for CrossFit, takes it very seriously (maybe a little too serious sometimes) and highly enjoys passing his knowledge to his clients at CrossFit Hardcore.

“There is not a better feeling to watch a client after listening to your instructions, accomplish a goal that they never in their entire lifetime thought they could do on their own. It’s freaking AWESOME and it’s what drives me to keep coaching.”

Bio

Being a competitive athlete is far from foreign to Liz. Starting soccer at the age of 4, Liz grew to desire the competitive nature of sports and excelled at them not only in high school but on lucrative club teams as well.  She even went to the lengths of playing for an all boys competitive travel team in Palm Beach. When she started college, she joined FAU’s club lacrosse team but was still trying to find something that satisfied her competitive desire. She was introduced to CrossFit in 2011. She entered in thinking that it would be easy but left extremely humbled. She then knew that she had found the competition she had been longing for. Since that day she has lived, breathed, and bled CrossFit.  She immediately knew that Crossfit is what she wanted to do with her life so she could help others not only become healthier but restore that new found confidence she had received herself from CrossFit.

In order to become the best coach possible, Liz knew that learning more about her sport and the human body would propel her in her professional career. She changed her major in college from Biology to Exercise Science, obtained her CrossFit Level 1 certification, competed in a variety of local competitions, and enrolled in a vastly growing training system called Muscle Activation Techniques. MAT is a unique process that detects muscular imbalances that can cause injury and as a MAT Specialist, Liz is taught how to detect those imbalances and fix them. She has finished the course and will be certified in December.  She is continuing to further her education in health and fitness by pursuing other accredited certifications. Liz can be found training at HQ and coaches at both HQ and The Station.

Liz prides herself on helping others not only become healthier but restoring a new found confidence that she herself has received from CrossFit.

Bio

I was born and raised in Venezuela where I competed in every sport my school offered including soccer, swimming, volleyball and basketball. I was offered a scholarship to play soccer in college in Oklahoma but decided to look for something new that demanded more of myself as an athlete and a human being. After 2 years of competitive Paintball I discovered CrossFit and decided to give it a try. My first CrossFit class was at CFHC Boca Raton, where Turbo, Queen and Lance welcomed me to a life changing journey. I was not the strongest guy in the box, but my technique helped me keep up with the best.

CrossFit HardCore motivated me to demand more of myself as an athlete and a human being day-in and day-out. My goal as a Coach at CrossFit Hardcore is to help people understand the importance of a healthy diet and daily exercise. I believe our bodies can do great things if you put in the right fuel, the hard work and take time for solid recovery.

You can find me at CrossFit Hardcore South in Miami. When I am not at the Box coaching or training I like to play soccer, wakeboard or spend time at the beach.
